Rosenmontag is a very popular holiday, not only in Rhineland-Palatinate, but also throughout Germany. On this day many people going dressed to the streets of Mainz, and celebrate together. At least the first part of the celebration is very funny. Rosenmontag-train travels through the whole city and the participants of the train are hurling on the streets various candies and bargains.
This time I was there too. And this time not alone. I learned on the Internet a young woman who wanted to participate at the carnival, but nobody was able to accompany her. I thought not long and have suggested that we could go together. I wanted to go there anyway, and was also alone. We have agreed to meet each other on the central station. Luckily, I told her that I will have a digital camera in my hand, because otherwise we would not recognize each other. I usually don’t have the problem of recognizing, because I already had experience with a „mitfahrgelegenheit“ where I must also recognize strange people.
Actually, the Rosenmontag 2009 went well, but the weather was not so nice.
